How to Fix Low Morale

Date: 26th November 2011 Venue:Park Hotel, Aberdeen Max. No. of participants 25 Duration: 1 day Fee: £200

If people are worried, unhappy, frustrated or even angry, many of them will not be concentrating as well as they should. As we know, lack of concentration leads to accidents and it is safe to assume that if morale is low enough, it could affect people’s concentration.

Sometimes managers don’t know what to do to fix low morale problems. Often they take steps which are counter-productive.

This half-day workshop will be an EYE-OPENER!

First it will reveal the real causes of stress and low morale. Then we’ll go on to the practical, systematic way of fixing the problem. Here are the seven steps you’ll learn about:

  • 1. Hiring a competent, independent person to conduct an exercise.
  • 2. Sending out a short survey – worded in a particularly helpful way.
  • 3. Writing a covering letter in such a way as to get people to “open up”.
  • 4. Analysing the responses to extract the main concerns
  • 5. Organising short, small-group workshops with open and confidential discussions
  • 6. Preparing a report with recommendations.
  • 7. Feeding back to management what you think needs to be done.
  • 8. What to do when what is needed to improve morale, cannot be provided (higher wages, for example).

Fixing morale problems is not difficult – it just takes time, patience and honesty.
