Becoming an even better HSE Adviser
A one-day workshop to identify how we can add even more value to
our service. |
|
The role of HSE Adviser is becoming a very demanding
one and one that bears much responsibility. Advisors are being called
upon to do more and more. You have to show results in reduce accidents,
incidents and first aid cases.
Sometimes it is difficult to know how to prioritise. In addition,
it is often difficult to get direct feedback from internal customers
- those senior colleagues we are there to serve. We may think we
are doing an excellent job but until we know exactly what people
expect, we can't be sure. Sometimes internal customers' expectations
are based on a false understanding of what we are charged with
doing by our organisation.
To improve performance it is essential to get clear exactly what
our internal customers want and to reflect on how we can or cannot
deliver it. If we cannot we must find ways to explain why we cannot.
During this one-day workshop we will discuss:
- The role of the modern-day HSE adviser
- The difficulties of the role
- What do our internal customers really want from us?
- How can we work even more closely with other HSE colleagues
- How can we show we are adding value?
Participants are asked to undertake two small pre-workshop exercises:
- Send to Profit Improvers a list of five obstacles hindering
them doing an even better job
- Ask at least three internal customers to suggest three ways
(each) in which an HSE Advisers could give even greater value.
Results
You will leave this workshop with more clarity of your role; more
confidence of what you should and should not be doing and with
ideas for giving even better service and for increasing the levels
of job satisfaction
